LEVY. -Al ORDINANCE- An ordinance levying & tax for the assessment of property on Second East Street between South Temple and Fourth South Streets, in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curb- ing, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:- SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Distriot No. 28, for the purpose of providing for the grading and paving of a portion of said district, to-wit:- In Lots 1 and 8, Block 74; Lots 2,3,4 and 5; Block 73; Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 71; Lots 4 and 5, Blook 72; Lots 1 and 8, Block 56; Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 55; All in Plat "A" abutting on both sidds of Sec- ond East Street between South Temple and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grad- ing, and paving with asphalt (said asphalt pavement to be seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs, and nine and one-half (9 ) inches thick, the portion of said Second East Street hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five 7� -1- l (25) feet beak therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirty-four thou- sand, one hundred fifty-nine and 81/100 (434,159181) Dol- lars, or ten and 146,168/1,000,000 (410.146168) Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway seventy- two (72} feet wide between curbs and nine and one-half (9i) inches thick, between South Temple and Third South Streets (exeepting that portion between South Temple and Third South Streets described est "the West side of Lot 2 and 3, Block 73, the East side of the South 263.23 feet of Lot 1, Block 74, all in Plat "A," there being 3366.77 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district; and three thousand, four hundred seventy-seven and 87/100 ($3,477.87) Dollars or eight and 121492/1,000,000 (08,121492) Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs and nine and one-half (90) inches thick, for that portion between Soutb.Tuple .anad First South, describ- ad as: "All of the West side of.Dot 2, Block 73, the Bast side of the South 263.23 feet of Lot 1, Block 74, all in Plat "A," there being 428,.23 front or linear feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned; and nine hundred, twenty-three and 36/100 ($923.36) Dollars, or nine and 641385/1,000,000 (49.841385) Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs and nine and one-half (90 inches thick, for that portion between South Temple and. x'irst_Sonth.described.asc °thd West side-of-the South 95.77 feet of Lot 3, Block 73, Plat "A," there being 95.77 front or linear feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and streets above mentioned; and eight hundred seven and 64/100 (0807.64) Dollars or eleven and 666061/1,000,000 ( l1.688061) Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs and nine and one-half 60 inches thick fqr that port. on between South Temple and First South described as: "the West side of the North 69.23 feet of Lot 3, Block 73, Plat "A," there being 69.23 front or linear feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, whioh ie the total cost and cost per front foot of said pavement, accord- ing to the contract entered into for the performance of said work, and making said improvement with P. J. One or more bf said installments, in the o der in which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time within thirty (30) days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax, without inter- eet. 2n the event of any installnis t or the interest afore- said not being paid on the date the Mama becomes Qge. the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said in- stallment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per an- num until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment beoomes due, by paying the amount thereof and in- terest to said date.
