AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 49-6-6 and 49-6-58 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to meter installation
and connection charges.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 49-6-6 and 49-6-58 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to meter installation and
connection charges, be, and the same hereby are, amended to read as
follows:
"Sec. 49-6-6. Meter installation and connection charges.
For the installation and connection of a service line and meter
the following charges payable in advance shall be made:
For a three-quarter inch connection and installing meter -
One Hundred Seventy-five Dollars.
For a one inch connection and installing meter -
Two Hundred Forty-five Dollars.
All meters and connections of larger size than one inch shall
be furnished at the expense of the applicant and installed at his
expense. In all cases the type of meter to be furnished shall be
approved by the superintendent of water works and shall be under
his exclusive control."

"Sec. 49-6-58. Meter testing upon request. Payment. Should
any water taker using a water meter desire to have the meter on his
premises tested, the charge shall be twelve dollars for one inch
and smaller, and twenty-five dollars for meters over one inch in
size, where the meter is found to be correct, or to register in favor
of the consumer, but where found to be over-registering the cost of
such test shall be borne by the city."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of City Commissioner it is
pecessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
12th day of July, 1972.
