AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 20-25-6(a) of the revised ordin-
ances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the prohibition of
street occupation in the downtown "C-4" district by amending Sub-
section (a) of Section 20-25-6 relating to exceptions thereto.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, that the only newspapers which may qualify for an
exception under Section 20-25-6(a) are those newspapers of daily
publication, which should be defined as publication of a minimum
of five issues each week, therefore;
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1, That Section 20-25-6(a) of the revised ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to street occupation in
downtown areas prohibited and sections thereto, be, and the same
hereby is amended to read as follows:
Section 20--25--6. Street and occupations in downtown areas
prohibit, exceptions.
(a) That portable or fixed newsstands or racks may be
permitted to occupy space in said district at positions
to be designated by the Board of Commissioners for the
sale of newspapers of daily publication. Newspapers of
daily publication, shall be defined as being newspapers
published every business day or, at least five days
each week; and

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after
its first publication.
