(Substitute r ,y • fy{. lr AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO VIADUCTS BY THE D NVER AND RIO GRANDE RAILROAD COMPANY IN SALT LANE CITY, UTAH. 01 + OVER FIFTH SOUTH STREET BETWEEN FIFTH AND SIXTH WEST STREETS AND ONE OVER SEVENTH SOUTH STREET BETWEEN FIFTH AND SIXTH WEST STREETS. WHEREAS it has become necessary to provide protection against injury to persons residing West of the tracks of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company, comprising that portion of Salt Lake City lying South of $masznit9a Second South Street and West of Fourth West Streets and to other citizens in said City, and also to provide protect- ion against injury to property of persons residing within the territory the of said City above mentioned and to/property of other citizens, and WHEREAS the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Company by reason of the maintenance of numerous,railroad tracks upon, over and across Fifth South Street between Fifth West and Sixth West Streets, and upon, over and across Seventh South Street between Fifth West and Sixth West Streets, and by reason of the frequent operation of numerous trains, cars and. engines upon, =ex and over said railroad tracks, has become, people and now is, a menayice to the praawFeeir* of the City of Salt Lake resid- ing in that part of the City herein before mentioned and to others having occasion to cross the said streets, and a constant and continu- ous danger to life, limb and property, and also a public nuisance, and WHEREAS by reason of said railroad tracks and the use of same as aforesaid upon said streets the use of said streets for public pur- poses have been greatly impeded, and in some instances totally destroy- ed. NOW THIMEFORE BE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SALT LANE /Th CITY, UTAH: ' L I 76 / _2_ SECTION 1, That the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. Company shall commence the construction of, and have completed on or before the let day of.
