AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension
No. 200) for the purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk. '
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk
Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension No. 200) for the
purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 and 20
of Blk. 5, Lots 1 to 16 incl. of Blk. 1, Lots 13 and 1 to 9 incl.
of Blk. 2, Sherman Add., Lots 2 to 21 incl. of Blk. 1, Lots 1 to
40 incl. of Blk. 2, Lots 1 to 40 incl. of Blk. 3, Broadway Add.,
Lots 1 to 10 incl. of Blk. 1, Lots 1 to 10 incl. of Blk. 2, Blythe
Sub., Lots 24 and 25 of Blk. 1, Lots 1 to 5 incl. and 24 to 28 incl.
of Blk. 2, Dankowske Park of Blk. 5, 5-Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey,
abutting on the south side of 17th South from State St. to 2d
East St., the East side of State St. from 17th South St. to a
point 43.55 ft. south of Wilson Ave. and from a point 118.55 ft.
south of Wilson Ave. to Westminster Ave., the west side of 3d East
St. from a point 287.1 feet south of 17th South St. to 21st South
St., both sides of Downington Ave., from State St. to 2d East St.,
the south side of Garfield Avenue from State St. to 2d East St.
and from Roberta St. to 3d East St., the north side of Garfield
Ave. from Roberta St. to a point 105 feet east and from a point
191.4 ft. east of Roberta St., to 3d East St., both sides of
IGoatsville Ave., from 2d East to 3d East Sts., both sides of
Downington Ave., from 3d East St. west 330 feet, the north side
of Westminster from State St. to 2d East st., the north side of
21st South from 2d East to a point 156.75 feet east., both sides
of Edison St. from 17th South St. to a point 287.5 feet south, and
from Garfield to Westminster Ayes., the west side of 2d East St.

wood Ave. to 21st South St.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete sidewalk five (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick
with three and one-quarter (311 inch base and three-quarter (4)
inch topping upon the portions of said streets opposite the pro-
perty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, to-wit: The south side
of 17th South from State St. to 2d East St., the east side of
State St. from 17th South St. to a point 43.55 ft. south of Wilson
Ave. and from a point 118.55 ft. south of Wilson Ave. to West-
minster Ave., the west side of 3d East St. from a point 287.1 ft.
south of 17th South St. to 21st South St., and four (4) foot
sidewalk four (4) inches thick with three and one-quarter (34)
inch base and three-quarter (4) inch topping upon the portions of
said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve-
ment, to-wit: Both sides of Downington Ave., State to 2nd East St.,
the south side of Garfield Ave. from State St. to 2d East St. and
from Roberta St. to 3d East St., the north side of Garfield Ave.
from Roberta St. to a point 105 ft. east and from a point 191.4
ft. east of Roberta St. to 3d East St., both sides of Coatsville
Ave., 2d East to 3d East Sts., both sides of Downington Ave. from
3d East St. west 330 ft., the north side of Westminster Ave. from
State St. to 2d East St., the north side of 21st So. from 2d East t.
a point 156.75 feet east, both sides of Edison St. from 17th So.
St. to a point 287.5 ft. south, and from Garfield Ave. to West-
minster Ave., the west side of 2d East St. from 17th So. St. to
Wilson Ave., both sides of 2d East St. from Garfield Ave. to
Westminster Ave., the east side of 2d East St. from Coatsville Ave.,
to a point 130.6 ft. south, and from Hollywood Ave. to 21st South
St.,and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that

said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are
hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets,
fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax
hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is
Eighteen Thousand Eight Hundred Five and 39/100 (418805.39) dollars;
Eleven Thousand. Nine Hundred and 85/100 (411900.85) dollars or
per front or linear foot of abutting property
One and 30/100 (41.30) dollarJ€ar said four (4) foot walk, there
being 9154.50 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of
the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts
improved by said four (4) foot walk; Six Thousand Nine Hundred
Four and 54/100 (46904.54) dollars or One and 53/100 (41.53)
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said
five (5) foot walk, there being 4512.77 feet of abutting property
within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above
mentioned in said districts improved by said five (5) foot walk,
which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of
said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and making said improvement with Mullins
& Palm, Contractors, dated the 29th day of June, 1921, and the
City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose
herein mentioned:

of said city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to
collet# said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Seotion I
of this ordinance in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk
Extension No. 200) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of construct-
ing a sidewalk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby con-
firmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to
the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified,
approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
1 payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
