Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on 10th West, Indiana Avenue to 9th South Street, Emery
Street, 8th South Street to Indiana Avenue, Concord Street,
Indiana Avenue to Railroad Tracks, Indiana Avenue, 10th West to
Glendale Street and from llth West to Concord Streets, in Sewer
District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 377), for the purpose of
constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District
No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 377) for the purpose of constructing
a sewer, to-wit:
In Lots 3 to 9 incl. of Blk. 10 and Lots 9 and 10
of Blk. 5, Glendale Add., Lots 32 to 43 incl., Lots 62 to 70
incl. and Lots 24 and 25 of 2nd Burlington Add., being a part
of Sec. 11 T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.B& M., Comm. 66 feet south
of the Southeast corner of Lot 37, 2nd Burlington Add.; thence
south 250 feet, being part of Sec. 11 T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.
& M., and Lots 9 to 16 incl. of Blk. 3, J. H. Whalon's Add.,
also being a part of Sec. 11 T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M.;
Comm. 330 feet E. and 60 feet north from the southeast corner
of Lot 1, Blk. 1, Poplar Grove Add., thence north 230 feet,
being a part of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of
Section 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.8c M., Lots 18 to 24 incl.
of Blk. 2, J. H. Whalon's Add.; Lots 10 to 17 incl. of Blk. 6,
Glendale Add., Lots 1 to 17 incl. of Blk. 1, Poplar Grove Add.
and Lots 13 to 24 incl. of 2nd Burlington Add., being a part of
Sec. 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.&. M., abutting on both sides
of 10th West, Indiana Ave. to 9th South St.; Emery St., 8th South
Street to Indiana Avenue; Concord Street, Indiana Avenue to
Railroad tracks; Indiana Avenue, 10th West to Glendale Street
and from llth West Street to Concord Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of construct-
ing a vitrified and concrete pipe sewer from eight (8) inches in
diameter to twenty-one (21) inches in diameter, upon the portions
of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve-
ment and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied and said parcels of land are here-
by assessed at a uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot
frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to
the entire depth of said parcels of land back therefrom, and the
tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is
Sixteen Thousand Ninety-nine and 85/100 ($16099.85) dollars; Nine
Thousand Fifty-one and 84/100 ($"9,051.84) dollars or Four and
49/100 ($4.49) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting proper y
for half rate, there being 2016 feet abutting said improvement,
and Seven Thousand Forty-eight and 01/100 ($7,048.01) dollars or
Five and 18/100 ($5.18) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for half rate including curb connections, there being
1360.62 feet abutting said improvement, which is the total cost
and cost per front foot of said sewers according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said im-
provement with R. E. Campbell, dated the llth day of October, 1920,

and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purposes
herein mentioned:
HALF RATE
The west side of the north 10' of Lot 3, and the west
side of Lots 4 to 9 inal.of Blk. 10, the east side of Lot 9 and
the east side of the south 84' of Lot 10, Blk. 5, Glendale Add.,
The west side of Lots 38 to 43 incl., the west side of Lots 62 to
70 incl., the east side of Lots 32 to 37 incl., the east side of
the south 801 of Lot 25 and the west side of the south 80' of
Lot 24, 2nd Burlington Add., commencing 66' south of the south-
east corner of Lot 37, 2nd Burlington Add.; thence south 250',
and the west side of Lots 9 to 16 incl. of Blk. 3, J. H. Whalon's
Add., all being part of Sec. 11 T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M.,
Commencing 330' east and 60' north from the southeast corner of
Lot 1, Blk. 1, Poplar Grove Add.; thence north 230', being part
of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 11,
T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M.
HALF RATE, Including Curb Connections.
The south side of Lots 18 to 24 incl. of Blk. 2, J. H.
Whalon's Add., the north side of Lots 10 to 17 incl. of Blk. 5,
Glendale Add., the south side of Lots 1 to 17 incl. of Blk. 1,
Poplar Grove Add., and the north side of Lots 13 to 24 incl. of
2nd Burlington Add., being a part of Sec. 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 W.,
S.L.B.& M., as the same are shown upon the official plats of said
city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to collect
I said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
I this ordinance in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 377)

of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a sewer upon
said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and the
assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the
report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whQ)e sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent psr annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same became due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent
per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
