Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, requiring the Denver and Rio Grande Western

hereby Is, amended to read as follows:

c h "Sec. 35-1-10. (1) The Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail-
road Company is hereby required to construct at its own
expense and to maintain in continuous operation automatic
cp
mechanical warning devices for the purpose of warning
ri pedestrians, drivers of vehicles and others crossing its
•
tracks of the approach of its engines and cars at Second
• N South Street between Fifth West Street and Sixth West
O Street, where its tracks cross said Second South Street;
M a at Sixth South and Fifth West Streets, where its tracks
cross said Sixth South Street and at Eighth South Street
and Fifth West Street, where Its tracks cross said ,Eighth
South Street.
"(2) The said automatic mechanical warning devices at said
Second South Street and Fifth West Street and at said Eighth
South Street and Fifth West Street shall consist of canti-
lever style railroad,cr$srsing signals which extend an arm
with a flashing ligPtison either side of the roadway into the
intersection when rail traffic is approaching the crossing.
The automatic mechanical warning devices at the said crossing
at Sixth South Street and Fifth West Street shall consist
of automatic flashing light signals to be located on both
sides of the roadway adjacent to the railroad tracks of the
said Railroad Company. The signals at each of the said
crossings shall be so constructed as to be automatically
actuated by engines and cars on the tracks of the said Rail-
road Company and shall be located and adjusted so as to
adequately and safely provide warning of the approach of
all rail traffic at the said crossings."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect on October 1 , 1960.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 14th day of June , 196 .
