Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance dedicating to public use for water-shed lands
and for public parks, certain lands in Salt Lake County,Utah, in said
ordinance described.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That any and all lands now owned by Salt Lake
City in Township 1 North, Range 2 East, and in Township 1 North,
Range 1 East, and in Township 2 North, Range 2 East, and in Township
1 North, Range 3 East, and in Township 1 South, Range 1 East, and in
Township 1 South, Range 2 East, and in Township 1 South, Range 3
East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, in Salt Lake County, Utah, to-
gether with all lands that may hereafter be acquired by said City in
or adjacent to any Canyon or water bearing zone or watershed within
said Totrnships and Ranges above mentioned and all water and water
sources therein, be and the s ame hereby are dedicated to public use
and made and designated water-shed lands and part and ps.rcel of the
water system of said City and lands held for public p arks; and it
is hereby declared and made manifest that said Salt Lake City ovns ,
and holds said lands for public uses and public purposes and for the
public welfare.
SECTION 2. The general supervision of said lands, in all
respects where not now vested in the City Engineer and in the
Department of ,Dater Supply and Witter Works by law or ordinance, shall
be vested in the Department of Parks and Public Property. It sk;411

be the duty of the City Engineer, under the direction of the Board
of Commissioners, to inspect, have charge of and supervise water-
sheds, canals and water sources of Salt Lake City and to keep
account of the condition of the same and the happening of events
touching the same and to keep the Board of Commissioners informed
thereof. The Department of dater Supply and Waterworks of said City
shall have the same control and jurisdiction over the water matters
and water system,- plants and appliances on or connected with said
lands as are now provided by ordinance.
SECTION 3. Nothing in this ordinance shall be held or con-
strued to repeal, alter, modify or affect any ordinance or ordinances
or resolution or resolutions heretofore pissed by the proper authority
of Salt Lake City setting aside or dedicating any of said lands to
public use of any kind or nature, but on the contrary, this ordin-
ance shall be construed and held to be concurrent and consistent
with all such ordinances and resolutions.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
