AN ORDINANCE
Result
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER XLVI of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, by adding in and to
said Chapter a new section to be known as Section 4863, relating
to the selling of motor vehicles on Sunday.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter XLVI of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, be and the same is hereby amended
by adding in and to said Chapter a new section to be known as
Section 4863, relating to the selling of motor vehicles on Sunday,
which shall read as follows:
''SEC. 4863. SALE OF' MOTOR VEHICLES ON SUNDAY PROHIBITED.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation,
or the agent, servant, or employee of any person, firm or cor-
poration, to sell, barter, or exchange any motor vehicle or
00 vehicles, or trailer or trailers, whether new or second hand,
in Salt Lake City on the first day of the week commonly called
Sunday.
(b) OPENING, OPERATING PROHIBITED. It shall further be
unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, or the agent,
servant, or employee of any person, firm or corporation, to
keep open, operate, or participate in keeping open or operat-
ing any place or premises, whether open or enclosed, for the
purpose of selling, bartering, or exchanging or demonstrating,
exhibiting or negotiating for sale, barter, or exchange any
motor car or other motor vehicle, trailer or trailers, whether
new or second hand, in Salt Lake City on the first day of the
week commonly called Sunday.

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board. of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication. 1J
