AN ORDINANCE AI1idNDING Section 51-15-1 of the devised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1J55i relating to the use regulations to a
Residential "[R-5" District within the Zoning Ordinance of Salt Lake City,
by adding thereto a new paragraph 6 relating to an exception for off--
street parking in side yards.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commiesioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 51-15-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to the use regulations in a (Residential
"it-5" District within the Zoning Ordinance of Salt Lake City, be, and the
same hereby is, amended by adding thereto a new paragraph 6 relating to
an exception for off-street parking in side yards, to read as follows:
"Sec. 51-15-1. Use Regulations.
6. On all lots used for other than a one-to-four-family
dwelling, off-street parking shall be allowed in the side
yard provided the following conditions are complied with:
(1) A landscaped side yard area at lease, as wide as
the minimum required side yard for the structure
alone is maintained for the complete length of
the parking area, this area to be defined by the
construction of a concrete curb.
(2) A solid wall or fence not less than 3 feet nor
more than 6 feet in height is constructed on the
property line so as to prevent the glare of head-
lights shining onto adjoining properties from the
parking lot.
(3) The parking area must nave a separate exit or be
of sufficient width to allow a car to turn so that
no car Is required to back from the parking lot.
(4) All conditions set forth in Section 51-5-7, itomo
1 through 7.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 6th day of September, 1961.
