AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER I of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, by adding in and to said chapter a
new section to be known as Section 140, providingor salary raises
for appointive officers. yr

SECTION I. That Chapter I of the Revised `Ordinan s'of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, be and the same is hereby amendf4d'by
adding in and. to said chapter a new section to be known as Section
140, providing for salary raises for a "_;intive officers, which
shall read as follows:
r"SEC. 140. SALARY RAISES FOR APPOINTIVE ORSICERS. All
persons heretofore appointed by the Board of Commissioners
to any salaried office under city government and whose of-
fice yi and salary is established and fixed by„otdinance,, ex-
cept officers in the police department and fire department
of Salt Lake City, City Attorney and (2ity Engineer, shall
be paid the sum of $12.50 per month in additifon to the
fixed remuneration nov received by them from Salt Lake City.
The payment of the said monthly sum of $12.50 shall begin
with the month of January, 1947."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the hoard of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt •:ake City that this ordinance become effective inmrediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
