AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levyin.e a tax and for the assessment o" property
on the south. sine of Fourth South Street between First West end.
Second. West Streets, in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction
of a sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt L :ee City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property- hereinafter
described in Lots Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 42, Plat "A", Salt Lake
City Survey, abutting on tee south side of Fourth. South. Street be-
tween First West and. Second West Streets, in Sewer District No. 2,
said property havin e a frontage of 635 feet alone said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of construetior a
vitrified pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon said portion
of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said im.proveme.nt, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and. establismoed that the same will be
especially ben fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot fron acre upon said
portion of saidetreet fronting upon ann to a depth of tweet,-five;
(25) feet back therefrom, and. tee tax hereby levied ane to be as-
sessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand one hundred eleven
and 25/100 ($1,111.25) dollars, or one a:ed 75/100 ($1.75) dollars
per front or linear foot, which. is the estimated total coat and es-
timated cost per front foot of said sewer, and tee Treasurer is
hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance eith the pro-
visions of this odinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of
Lots 6, 7 and. 8, and the east 140 foot of Lot 5, Block 42, Plat "A",
Salt Lake City Survey, as tee sane are shown upon the ceficial plats
of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said
street, an to collect said tea.

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent: in six (6)
equal installments, as follass, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come and be delinquent one month after the approval of hots ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one ye:-,r after :nzch approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years:after such approval; one-sixth tijereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
dal. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tea
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
