Green —�— - { Mr. Chairman Result T AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property in Paving District No. 31, (Paving Extension No. 176) for the purpose of grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and inter- sections, constructing private driveways, installing sewer con- nections and water services to back of curb, and paving with bi- tuminous concrete. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31 (Paving Extension No. 176) for the purpose of grading, curb- ing and guttering, constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, construnting private driveways, installing sewer connections and water services to back of curb, and paving with bituminous concrete, to-.nit: In Lots 1 to 24 incl. of Blk. 2 and Lots 1 to 29 incl. of Blk. 1, So. Lawn Sub. of Blk. 15, 5 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Roosevelt Avenue, 8th to 9th East Streets, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curb- ing and guttering, constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, constructing private } 1 driveways, installing sewer connections and water services to back of curb, and paving with bituminous concrete (said pavement to be thirty (30) feet between curbs) and all of said pavement to be eight (8) inches thick with six (6) inch concrete base and two (2) inch wearing surface of bituminous concrete, the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said pro- perty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Twelve Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-five and 52/100 (.12395.52) dollars; Eleven Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-three and 92/100 ($1;11293.92) dollars or Seven and 92/100 (0.92) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said thirty (30) foot roadway, there being 1426 feet abutting said portion of said im- provement; Seven Hundred Eighty (080.00) dollars for private driveways er Sixty ($p60.00) dollars for each private driveway, there been thirteen (13) private driveways; Two Hundred Sixteen and 60/100 ($216.60) dollars for sewer laterals or Thirty-six and 10/100 ( 36.10) dollars for each sewer lateral, there being six (6) sewer laterals; One Hundred Five ($105.00) dollars for water services or Twenty-one (01.00) dollars for each water service, there being five (5) water services, and the cost of which private driveways, and the cost of which sewer laterals and water services and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentione• in said district, which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said improvement according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Enoch Smith, Contractor, dated July 6, 1921, and the City -2- i i Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accor- dance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: THIRTY FOOT ROADWAY The south side of Lots 1 to 24 incl. of Blk. 2 and the north side of Lots 1 to 29 incl. of Blk. 1, So. The north side of the east 19' of Lot 8, the north side of the east 19' of Lot 10 and the north side of Lot 14, Blk. 1; the south side of Lot 1, the south side of the west 8.34' of iI Lot w3, the south side of the west 16.67' of Lot 5, the south side of Lot 7, the south side of the west 19.66' of Lot 10, the south side of Lots 12, 15, 17, 19 and 21, Blk. 2, So. Lawn Sub. of Bik. 15, 5 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey: PROPERTY ASSESSED FOR SEWER LATERALS IN ADDITION TO THE REGULAR ASSESSMENT The north side of Lois 5, 7, 13, 17, 19 and 20 of Blk. 1, South Lawn Sub. of Blk. 15, 5 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey: PROPERTY ASSESSED FOR WATER SERVICES IN ADDITION TO THE REGUL4'i ASSESSMENT The north side of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 19 of Blk. 1, South Lawn Sub. of Blk. 15, 5 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of f said city to the entire depth back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION II, That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Paving Extension No. 176 of Salt Lake City, -3- 1 for the purpose of grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and inter- sections, constructing private driveways, installing sewer con- nections and water services to back of curb, and paving with bituminous concrete thereof, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with in- terest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per oent per annum until the sale of the property assessed. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this V\ day of �.Y)\1,,,,,,\ , A.
