1 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TA2. and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension No.
200) for the purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Dis-
tricts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension No. 200) for the purpose
of constructing concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and
20, Block 6; Lots 1 to 24 incl. of Blk. 1 and Lots 1 to 7 incl.,
and 13 to 24 incl. of Blk. 2, Rigby Place; Lots 1 to 20 incl.
of Blk. 1 and Lots 1 to 20 incl. of Blk. 2, State Street Add; Lots
2 to 10 incl. of Blk. 2, Lots 1 to 3 incl., 8 to 21 incl. and 29
to 44 incl. of Blk. 3, Lots 1 to 18 incl. of Blk. 4, ;uayle's Add;
Lots i to 5 incl. and 12 to 56 incl. of Blk. 1, and Lots i to 40

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick
with three and one-quarter (3*) inch base and three-quarter ( )
inch topping upon the portions of said streets opposite the pro-
perty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially af-
fected and benefited by said improvement, to-wit: West side of
State Street from 17th South to a point 287.1' south; from Coats-
ville Ave. to a point 264.265' north; from a point 97.13' south of
Coatsville Ave. thence south 445.155'; from Hollywood Ave. to a

inches thick with three and one-quarter (34) inch base and three-
quarter (4) inch topping upon the portions of said streets op-
posite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said improvement, to-wit:
Both sides of Major Ave. from 17th So. to a point 287.1' So. and
from Hollywood Ave. to a point 254.66' N. Both sides of Richards
St. from 17th South to Quayle Ave. and from 21st So. to a point
705.01 N. Both sides of Hollywood Ave., Main to State Sts. South
side of 17th South from W. Temple to a point 100' E. North side
of Quayle Ave. from W. Temple to Main St., and it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here-
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets, fronting upon and to the en-
tire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be
assessed upon said parcels of land is Twenty-one Thousand Nine
Hundred Forty-nine and 01/100 (421,949.01) dollars; Seven Thousan;
One Hundred Eight and 41/100 (47108.41) dollars or One and 30/100
(41.30) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
said four (4) foot walk, there being 5468.01 feet of abutting
property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets
above mentioned in said districts improved by said four (4) foot
walk; Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Forty and 60/100 (414,840,60:

dollars or One and 53/100 ( 1.53) dollars per front or linear foot
of abutting property for said five (5) foot walk, there being
9699.74 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots.

cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said im-
provement with Mullins & Palm, Contractors, dated the 29th day of
June, 1921, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and di.rectd.

SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
this ordinance in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk
Extension No. 200) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of construct-
ing a sidewalk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby con-
firmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review tc
the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified,
approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any

installment or the interest aforesaid is not p;;id on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve
per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed..
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication. -)
