AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment
of property on MILTON AVENUE, SIXTH to SEVENTH EAST STREETS,
in Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 392) for the con-
straotion of sewers.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer
District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 392) for the construction
of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 2, 3 to 16 incl. , 17, 35, 21 to 34 incl.
and 20 of Hawthorne Sub. of Block 14, Five Acre Plat A, Big
Field Survey, abutting on MILTON AVENUE, SIXTH to SEVENTH
EAST STREETS, and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back from
said street, and all within the district bounded on the
North by Bryan Avenue, on the east by Seventh East Street,
on the South by Seventeenth South Street, and on the West
by Sixth East Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of con-
structing vitrified pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter
upon the portions of said street opposite the property here-
inbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected

;and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
',determined and established that said property will be especially
'benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied,
land said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
'!uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
,said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to
be assessed upon said parcels of land is Twenty-nine Hundred
iEight and 80/100 ( 2908.80) dollars, or Two and 40/100 ( 2.40)
per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being
.1212 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is
the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, according :
to the contract entered into for the performance of said. work
Wand making said improvement, with Shepard & Weber, Contractors,
,dated the 21st day of April, 1920, and the Treasurer is hereby
!authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the pro-
;,visions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The south side of the east 20.75 feet of Lot 2; the
;!south side of Lots 3 to 16 incl., the south side of the west
26.25 feet of Lot 17; the north side of the east 20.75 feet of
Lot 35; the north side of Lots 21 to 34 incl. and the north side
!of the west 24.75 feet of Lot 20, Hawthorne Sub. of Block 14,
Five Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon
the official plats of said city to a depth of fifty (50) feet
:back from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent
;in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole
sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the'
,time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one yea0
after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the

;payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof

effective; one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance
!becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the
,order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may i
I!be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance con-

IlIn the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not
being paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of

iIthe:special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest!

IIare due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest

at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the
•,pioperty assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
Iorder in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid!,
; may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying
!; the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect one
