Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension No.
200) for the purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Dis-
tricts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk Extension No. 200) for the purpose
of constructing concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
Lots 1, 2, 12 and 14 to 20 incl., of Blk. 7, 5-Acre
Plat A, Lots 4, 10 and 11 of Blk. 11; Lots 1 to 54 incl., Blk.
3, Lots 1, 2 and 9 to 54 incl., Blk. 4, South Main St. Add.;
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 6 to 20 incl., Blk. 3 and Lots 1, 2, 3, 17,
18 and 20, Blk. 4, Gabbott's Add.; Lots 1 and 12 to 20 incl.,
Blk. 3, Dieter and Johnson's Main Street Add.; Lots 1 to 10
incl. and 20 to 40 incl., Blk. 1, Lots 20, 21, 25, 26, 1 to 18
incl., and 29 to 40 incl., Blk. 2, Dunford Sub., all in Blk.
11, 5-Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, abutting on the north side
of 21st South from Nest Temple to 2nd West, both sides of
Richards Street from 13th South to Merrimac Avenue, east side
of Richards Street from Merrimac Avenue to a point 304.8 ft.
south; from Andrew Avenue to a point 101.6 ft. north and from
Harris Ave. to 17th South.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick
with three and one-quarter (35) inch base and three-quarter (¢)
(inch topping upon the portions of said streets opposite the pro-

a point 379.5 ft. west of West Temple, thence west 308.1 ft. West
side of West Temple from a point 143.55 ft. south of 17th South,
thence south 71.775 ft. and from a point 574.175 ft. south of 17th
South, thence south 2296.8 ft. West side of Lain St. from 13th
South to Harris Ave. and from 17th South to a point 270.06 ft. north.
West side of Richards St. from Andrew Ave. to a point 101.6 ft.

inches thick with three and one-quarter (3 ) inch base and three-
quarter (4) inch topping upon the portions of said streets op-
posite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said improvement, to-wit:
The north side of 21st South St. from West Temple to 2nd West Sts. ,
both sides of Richards ` treet from 13th South to Merrimac Ave.,
east side of Richards Street from Merrimac Avenue to a point
304.8 ft. south; from Andrew Avenue to a point 101.6 ft. north
and from Harris Ave. to 17th South. West side of Richards St.
from 17th South to a point 486.54 ft. north. North side of Mer-
rimac Ave., Main St. to West Temple St. South side of Merrimac
Ave., Main St. to Richards St. North side of Andrew Ave., Main
St. to West Temple St. South side of Harris Ave., Main St. to
West Temple St., and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be especially benefited there-
by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels
of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in ac-
cordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said
streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefrom,
and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is Twenty-two Thousand Two Hundred Forty-five and 29/100
(422,245.29) dollars; Nine Thousand Two Hundred Forty-one and
82/100 (49241.82) dollars or One and 30/100 (41.30) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for said four (4) foot
walk, there being 7109.09 feet of abutting property within the
boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in
said districts improved by said four (4) foot walk; Thirteen

Thousand Three and 47/100 (,13,003.47) dollars or One and 53/100
(:jp1.53) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
said five (5) foot walk, there being 8499 feet of abutting pro-pert,
within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men-
tioned in said districts improved by said five (5) foot walk, whicu
is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said side-
walks, according to the contract entered into for the performance
of said work and making said improvement with Mullins & Palm,
Contractors, dated the 29th day of June, 1921, and the City Trees er
is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

of Lots 20 and 21 of Blk. 2, Dunford Sub., the south side of Lots
1 and 2, the west side of Lots 2, 3 and 6 to 11 incl. and the
north side of Lots 11 and 12 of Blk. 3, the south side of Lots 1
and 2 of Blk. 4, Gabbott's Add., the south side of Lots 1 and 2,
and the west side of Lots 2 to 28 incl. of Blk. 3, the south side
of Lots 1 and 2 and the east side of Lots 1 and 29 to 54 incl. of
Blk. 4, So. Main St. Add., Plat A, the west side of the north

entire depth of said parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I
of this ordinance'in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 44 and 45 (Sidewalk
Extension No. 200) of salt Lake City, for the purpose of construe -
ing a sidewalk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby con-
firmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to
the Boatel of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified
approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
1 installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve

per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this VV. day of October, A. D., 1921.
