500 South and Redwood Road to 165-foot depth)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO REZONING
AND FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah has held a
public hearing to consider and deliberate on the request known as
Petition No. 561 of 1981, and the recommendation of the Planning
and Zoning Commission that the existing "B-3" District located on
the northeast corner of the intersection of 500 South and Redwood
Road be expanded from its present depth of 110 feet east 55 feet
to a total depth of 165 feet. Said Council has also considered
the testimony of citizens, various planning and demographic data,
and has participated in the on-site inspection of the property.
Based on said review and deliberation, the City Council finds
that the proposed rezoning is appropriate in order to encourage
the approprite development and growth in the West Side Community,
that will be compatible with the best interests of the particular
neighborhood and the development of the city as a whole.
Therefore, it adopts the following amendments to the Use District
provisions of Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the "Use District Map" as adopted by
Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to the fixing of boundaries of use
districts, be, and the same hereby is amended as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts.
Residential "R-7" to Business "B-3". That the 110 foot wide
Business "B-3" District, generally located on the northeast
corner of the intersection of 500 South and Redwood Road be
expanded east 55 feet to a width of 165 feet. The said expansion
strip of 55 feet described below currently zoned Residential
"R-7" shall be zoned to a Business "B-3" classification.
Beginning at a point 1900 feet South and 143 feet
East of the corner of Section 3, Township 1
South, Range 1 West; thence running East 55 feet;
thence North 130 feet; thence West 55 feet;
thence South 130 feet to the point of
beginning. Containing .06 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
