AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 of TITLE 51, of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to supplemental zoning regulations,
by adding thereto a new Section 51-5-4A, relating to grade changes.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 5 of Title 51, of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to supplemental zoning regulations,
be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto a new section
51-5-4A, relating to grade changes, to read as follows:
"Sec. 51-5-4A. Grade changes. The finished grade of any
lot in any existing subdivision or on an existing public or
private street shall not be raised or lowered at any property
line more than two feet from the sidewalk grade or from the
existing grade of any abutting property or within any open
area surrounding a building more than is necessary to provide
for a normal slope for drainage unless specifically authorized did
by the board of adjustment."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of
the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
30th day of September 1969.
