Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 25-4-6(h) of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to pay differential for emergency medical technicians and paramedics, be, and the same hereby is amended as follows: (h) Pay differential for emergency medical technicians and paramedics. (1) Personnel currently certified by the State of Utah as an Emergency Medical Technician and assigned by the fire chief to duty as said Emergency Medical Technician shall be paid 3% of a 1st grade firefighter's salary, pay class 404 D, as a pay differential in addition to his or her regular salary. (2) Personnel currently certified by the State of Utah as paramedics and assigned to duty as paramedics by the fire chief shall be paid 10% of a 1st grade firefighter's salary, pay class 404 D, as a pay differential in addition to his or her regular salary. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
