86 of 1909 - Ordinance 86 of 1909 – Curb & Gutter Extension No. 7, Fourth Partial Estimate. AN OR DI BANCE . An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on (both sides of all north and south streets from the south side of ;South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, from Second East Street to Tenth Bast Street, both streets inclusive, in Paving Districts Nos 27 and 28, for the purpose of providing for the !curbing and guttering thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Connell does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Distrieta Nos. 27 and 28, for the curbing and (guttering of certain streets therein, to-wit: In Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 68; 1 and 8, Block 65; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 44; 4 and 5. Bleak 57; 2, 3, 4 and 6, Block 56; and 4 and 5, Block 43. all in Plat RB", abutting on both sides of Ninth East Stree between South Temple and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of Garbing and gutterin lthe portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affeoted and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said paroels of lend are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is five thousand three hundred forty-one and 88/100 (45341.88) dollars, or one and 3481484/10.000,000 (41.3483684) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for curbing and guttering said portions of the street above mentioned in Paving Districts Nos. 27 and 28, there beim 8960 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned, which is the total cost and post -2- 1 per front foot of said curbing and guttering according to the contra t entered into for the performance of said work and making"said i#rov - ment with J. D. Hanley, dated the 14th day of September, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accord- anoefwith the provisions of this ordinanoe for the purpose herein mentioned: Fronting'on Ninth Bast Street. Block 65; the east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 44; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 57; the west, eide660ta 2, 30 4 and 5, Block 66; and the west aide of Lots 4 and -5, Block 43, 1 .`fall in Plat *B", Salt 'Lake City Survey, as the same are Shown upon .. thi official plats of said eity to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet book fromsaid street, and to oolleot said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five eq. 1 installments, as follewe, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for aueh improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after suoh approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one»fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- stallmente, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after ! the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One oxi more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day y installment becomea due, by paying the amount thereof and interest t date of payment. Baoh of said installments shall bear interest at t e j rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until Cite of delinque - j oy, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
