Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance dedicating to public use for water-shed lands
and for public parks, certain lands in Salt Lake County, Utah, in
Summit County, Utah, in Morgan County, Utah, and in Davis County,
Utah, in said ordinance described.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That any and all lands now avn.ed by Salt Lake
City in. Township 1 North, Range 2 East, and in Township 1 North,
Range 1 East, and in Township 2 North, Range 2 East, and in Town-
ship 1 North, Range 3 East, and in Township 1 South, Range 1 East,
and in 'Towr_ishiu 1 South, Range 2 East, and in Township 1 South,
Range 3 East, Salt Lake Base and '"eridian, in Salt Lake Country,
Utah, in. Summit County, Utah, in Morgan County, Utah, and in Davis
County, Utah, Uogether with all lands that may hereafter be acquired
by said. City in or adjacent to any Canyon or water bearing zone or
water-shed within said Townships and Ranges above mentioned and all
water and water sources therein, be and the same hereby are dedicat-
ed to public use and made and designated watershed lands and part
and parcel of the water system of said City and lands held. for
public parks; and it is hereby declared and made manifest that said
Salt Lake City owns and holds said lands for public uses and public
purposes and for the public welfare.
SECTION 2. The general supervision of said lands, in all

respects where not now vested in the City Engineer and in the
Department of fa.ter Supply and '.later +orks by law or ordinance,
shall be vested in the Department of Parks and Public Property.
It shall be the duty of the City Engineer, under the direction of
the Board of Commissioners, to inspect, have charge of and super-
vise watersheds, canals and water sources of Salt Lake City and to
keep account of the condition of the same and the happening of events
touching the same and to keep the Board of Commissioners informed
thereof. The Department of Lfater Supply and 'faterworks of said City
shall have the same control and jurisdiction over the water matters
and water system, plants and appliances on or connected with said
lands as are now provided by ordinance.
SECTION 3. Nothing in this ordinance shall be held or con-
strued to repeal, alter, modify or affect any ordinance or ordinances
or resolution or resolutions heretofore passed by the proper author-
ity of Silt Lake City setting aside or dedicating any of said lands to
public use of any kind or nature; but on the contrary, this ordinance
shall be construed and held to be concurrent and consistent with all
such ordinances and resolutions.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication,
