An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property
Ion all streets within the district bounded on the north by the north
Elise of Fifth South Street, on the east by the west line of East
Temple Street, on the south by the venter line of Ninth South Street,
and on the west by the west line of Second West Street, in Sewer Dis-
trict No. 2, for the oonstruotion of sewers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers,
to-wit:
In Lots 1, 4, 5 and 8, Block 24; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 15; 1 and
8, Block 14; 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block $3; and 4 and 5, Block 22,
all in Plat "A', abutting on the east side of Second West Street be-
tween Sixth South and Seventh South Streets; on both sides of West
Temple Street between Sixth South end Eighth South Streets; and on
both sides of First West Street between Sixth South and Seventh Bout.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-
fied pipe sewers sight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of
said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop
arty will be sspeoially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is ton thousand seven hundr d
seventy-three and 46/100 ($10773.46) dollars, or two and
4182853/10,000,000 ($2.4182853) dollars per front or linear foot of

abutting property for sewer on both sides of street, there being 4455',
feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks
and streets above mentioned,in said alit district, which is the total
oast and oost per front foot of said sewer according to the contract
entered into ibr the performance of said work and making said improve-
ment, with James Kennedy, dated July 7, 1907, and the Treasurer is
hereby authorised and directed to assess in aocordanoe with the pro-
visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned:
Sewer on Both Sides of Street.
The west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 24; the west side of Lots
2, 3, 4 and 6, Block 15; the east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 14;the
east aide of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, the west side of Lots 2, 3 and 5,
, Block 23; the east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 24; and the west side
of Lots 4 and 5, Block 22, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey,
as the same are shown upon the official plate of said city to a dept
of twenty-five (25) feet book from said streets, and to collect said
tax.
8B0710B 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equ 1
installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest
to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at
the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval
of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date of delin-
quency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until pek4d.
