WHEREG.S, By the result of a special election duly called, advertised and held in Salt Lakk City, Utah, February 18, 1914, said City was authorized and empowered to issue and sell Five hundred and twenty-five thousand (5N525,000.00) dollars in water bonds, and Three hundred and seventy-five thousand N375,0J0.00) dollars in sewer bonds, the result of which election was declared by the Board of Commissioners of said City sitting as a board of canvassers, by a resolution duly passed on the 24th day of February, 1914; and VMEHEPS, The Board of Commissioners of said City on the 13th day of May, 1914, duly passed a resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Recorder to advertise for bids for the purchase of Two hundred thousand (=;200,000.00) dollars of said water bonds, and One Hundred thousand N100,000.00) dollars of said sewer bonds; and UHERF4S, The Mayor and City Recorder have duly advertised for bids for said bonds as authorized end directed by said resolution last named; and 1,,'HEREE.S, In accordance with said last mentioned resolution and said advertisement for bids for said bonds, all bids in the hands of -1- 87 Tithe City Recorder at 5 o'clock P. M., June 8, 1914, were duly opened and considered by the Boardd. of Commissioners at a regular I. meeting thereof held on said June 8, 1914, beginning at 8 o'clock P. '1.I. ; and "RERELS, The bid of Emery, Peck & Rockwood, Blodget & Co. , Merrill, Oldham & Co. , of Chicago and New York City , for said Two Hundred Thousand (400,000.00) Dollars in w ter bonds, and One Hundred Thousand (a00,000.00) Dollars in sewer bonds, having been declared by the Board of Commissioners by a resolution duly passed at said meeting, as being the highest, best and most advantageous 1 to the interests of the City, which bid was by said resolution dul) ill accepted by said. That for the purpose of defraying the expense of increasing, improving, enlarging, extending, perfecting and adding Ito the present water supply and water works system now owned and tq be owned and controlled by the City in the manner set out in an I',ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on the 15th day of (January, 1914, entitled "An ordinance providing for and ordering a ' special election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified ''electors of Salt Lake City, Utah, the question of incurring a bonded Iliindebtedness to the amount of 000,000.00," Salt Lake City does issue five hundred and twenty-five water bonds of the denominationl, of One Thousand (5v1,000.00) Dollars each, consecutively numbered from 1 to 525, both numbers inclusive. Of said five hundred and twenty-five water bonds there shall be but two hundred of the same ! !lissued and delivered to said Emery, Peck & Rockwood, Blodget & Co. ,! Merrill, Oldham & Co.,of Chicago and New York City, above mentioned, [numbering from 1 to 200, both inclusive. The Board of Commissioners shall annually levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on this bond as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof within Twenty years.
