An ordinance providing for the issue and sale of Two hundred
thousand (0200,000.00) dollars of an authorized issue of Five hundred
and twenty-five thousand (0525,0J0.00) dollars in water bonds, and
One hundred thousand (0100,000.00) dollars of an authorized issue of
Three hundred and seventy-five thousand (0375,000.00) dollars in
sewer bonds of Salt Lake City, Utah.
WHEREG.S, By the result of a special election duly called,
advertised and held in Salt Lakk City, Utah, February 18, 1914, said
City was authorized and empowered to issue and sell Five hundred and
twenty-five thousand (5N525,000.00) dollars in water bonds, and Three
hundred and seventy-five thousand N375,0J0.00) dollars in sewer
bonds, the result of which election was declared by the Board of
Commissioners of said City sitting as a board of canvassers, by a
resolution duly passed on the 24th day of February, 1914; and
VMEHEPS, The Board of Commissioners of said City on the 13th day
of May, 1914, duly passed a resolution authorizing and directing the
Mayor and City Recorder to advertise for bids for the purchase of Two
hundred thousand (=;200,000.00) dollars of said water bonds, and One
Hundred thousand N100,000.00) dollars of said sewer bonds; and
UHERF4S, The Mayor and City Recorder have duly advertised for
bids for said bonds as authorized end directed by said resolution
last named; and

said advertisement for bids for said bonds, all bids in the hands of

opened and considered by the Boardd. of Commissioners at a regular I.
meeting thereof held on said June 8, 1914, beginning at 8 o'clock
P. '1.I. ; and

Merrill, Oldham & Co. , of Chicago and New York City

Hundred Thousand (400,000.00) Dollars in w ter bonds, and One
Hundred Thousand (a00,000.00) Dollars in sewer bonds, having been
declared by the Board of Commissioners by a resolution duly passed
at said meeting, as being the highest, best and most advantageous 1
to the interests of the City, which bid was by said resolution dul)

NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That for the purpose of defraying the expense of
increasing, improving, enlarging, extending, perfecting and adding
Ito the present water supply and water works system now owned and tq
be owned and controlled by the City in the manner set out in an
I',ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on the 15th day of
(January, 1914, entitled "An ordinance providing for and ordering a '
special election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
''electors of Salt Lake City, Utah, the question of incurring a bonded
Iliindebtedness to the amount of 000,000.00," Salt Lake City does
issue five hundred and twenty-five water bonds of the denominationl,
of One Thousand (5v1,000.00) Dollars each, consecutively numbered
from 1 to 525, both numbers inclusive. Of said five hundred and
twenty-five water bonds there shall be but two hundred of the same !
!lissued and delivered to said Emery, Peck & Rockwood, Blodget & Co. ,!
Merrill, Oldham & Co.,of Chicago and New York City, above mentioned,
[numbering from 1 to 200, both inclusive.
Said bonds and each of them shall be, except as to consecutive

That Salt Lake City, in the County of Salt Lake and State of
Utah, hereby acknowledges itself to be indebted, and for value
received hereby promises to pay to the bearer hereof the sum of

on the first day of July, 1934; at the First National Bank of the
City of New York, with interest thereon at the rate of four and
one-half (4i) per cent per annum from date until paid, payable
semi-annually in like money o$ the first days of January and July

the annexed coupons as they severally become due.
This bond is one of a series of 525 bonds of like tenor, date
and amount, numbered from 1 to 525 inclusive, and known as "Salt
Lake City Water Bonds, Series F", for the aggregate sum of Five
jhundred and twenty-five thousand (425,000) dollars, issued under
and pursuant to Section 308 of the Compiled Laws of Utah, 1907, as,
amended by Chapter 4,of the Laws of Utah, 1911, and Section 309 ofl

1909 and Section 310 of said Compiled Laws and an ordinance passed)
January 15th 1914, by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
and has been authorized by the electors of said City at a special
election held in said City February 18th, 1914, for the purpose of
extending and improving the Water system of said City to be Gamed

The Board of Commissioners shall annually levy a sufficient
tax to pay the interest on this bond as it falls due and also to
constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof
within Twenty years.
It is hereby certified that all conditions, acts, and things
, essential to the validity of this bond ,exist,have happened and have
been done and that every requirement of law affecting the issue
,thereof has been duly complied with and that this bond is within
' every debt and other limit prescribed by the Constitution and Laws;
of said State and that the faith and credit of the City of Salt
' Lake City are hereby irrevocably pledged to the punctual payment
' of the principal and interest of this bond, according to its terms.'

100,000.00 sewer bonds to Emery, Peck Z: Rockwood, Blodget & Co. ,
Merrill, Oldham & Co., of Chicago and New York City, and the action;
of the Board of Commissioners in accepting their bid, and all acts

thereby ratified and confirmed. The Board of Commissioners may by
resolution or resolutions provide for the details involved in the x-
ecutionand delivery of said bonds, the collection of the proceeds
therefrom, and the negotiation of the business connected therewith:
