That the Board of Commissioners of Bait Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon. the property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 7, for the purpose of nnsuvidig for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps, to-wit: In Lots 5 mid 6 of 31k. 51, Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Bll. 58, Lots 5 to 8 incl. of B1k. 52, Lots 1 and 2 of B1i;:. 57, Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 53, Lots 1, 3, 4 and. 2 of. ilk. 56, Plat A, Salt Lake City Survcy,, abutting on botn sides of 3d South street from Best Temple to 2nd. East in Ealt Lake City, Utah. This tax is -levied to defray the el:Dense of providing for the operation, maintenance aa_.d patrolling of arc lamps (said lamps to be ono hundred twenty-six (126) in. number; fourteen (I.4) ornamental iron standards on each bicc'. .-_r r-..id district (seven standards to be on each side of each Mock) each standard to carry three inverted type ornamental 6.6 ampere luminous arc lamps), said lustps to be illumin- ated by electric current; ;:said standards to be ;a.p1iroximately 110 ft. apart, and to be supplied with electric current for the illumination of the scas,_e each night from fifteen minutes before hark until i,iidni5ht, i 1 four (4) lamps in each block, however, to lie lighted all night (tho cost of operation of the ail night lamps being 0326.40, and same to be paid for by the city,)the circuits for the operation of said system of lamps to be underground., and the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore end hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement and it is .eereby adjudged, determined and established that said pro- perty will be especially benecited thereby to the -Pull amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcel:: of laid are hereby as,sesse at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with t;_e linear foot frontage upon €uid to the entire depth back therefrom and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Twenty thousand One Hundred Twenty-six. and 70j100 (420126.70) dollars or Five and 121297/1000000 4-45.121297) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 3920 ft. abutting said. portion of said improvement and the cost of which operation, maintenance and patrolling and the property benefited thereby is 'hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total abutters' cost and. cost per front feet of said improvement for a period of three years, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Utah rower & Light Company, dated the 6th day of January, 1921, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: OFIS'dhTI ON The north side of Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 51, the south side of Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Blk. 58, the north side of Lots 5 to 8 incl. of Blk. 52, the south side of Lots 1 and 2 of Blk. 57, the north side of Lots 5 and 6 of 31k. 53, the south side of Lots 1, 3 and 4, the south side of the east 85 ft. at and the south side of the west 50 ft. of Lot 2, Blk. 56, Plat lL, Salt Lake City- Survey, -2- i 1 , t I as the same are snom upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Lighting District No. 7 of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of providi;g for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned- in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in three equal yearly installments as provided by low and ordinance. In the event any installment is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said install- ment is due, shall become due and paya,)le, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed. SECTION IV This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this Wday of November, b.
