Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 91 and subparagraph (1) of Section
98 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake City, Utah, relating to notice
and reports of accidents.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 91 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake
City, Utah, relating to giving notice of motor vehicle accidents,
be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 91. Immediate notice of accident. The driver
of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury
to or death of any person or property damage to an
apparent extent of two hundred dollars or more, shall
immediately by the quickest means of communication, give
notice to the police department."
SECTION 2. That subparagraph (1) of Section 98 of the Traffic
Code of Salt Lake City, Utah, relating to accident reports, be,
and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 98. Accident reports. * *
(1) The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident result-
ing in injury to or death of any person or total property
damage to the apparent extent of two hundred dollars or more
shall forward a written report of such accident to the
financial responsibility division of the department of public
safety of the State of Utah within five days after such
accident."

SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 15th day of August, 1973.
