i AR ORDINANCE .
1
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property o•
the west side of Third West Street between North Temple and First
North Streets, in Sewer Dietriot No. 1, for the construction of a
sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer,
to-wit:
In Lots 1 and B, Block 98, Plat "A"', abutting on the west side
of Third West Street between North Temple and First North Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a vitri-
fied pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of said
street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described
to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it
is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property
will be especially benefited thereby to the fall amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
( upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand one hundre4i
thirty-four and 24/100 ($1134.24) dollars, or one and 71855/100000 1

($1.71855) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
sewer on said portion of the street above mentioned in Sewer Distric
No. 1, there being 660 feet of abutting property within the boundari a

and cost per front foot of said sewer according to the contract en- 1
tered into for the performance of said work and making said improve-
ment, with J. D. Hanley, dated the 26th day of April, 1909, and the
Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed to assess in accordance

with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mention:d:
The east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 98, Plat "A", Salt Lake
City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said
city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and
to oolleot said tax.
$ECTION 2. Said .tax shall become and be delinquent in five equ=1
installments, as folio4s, to wit: One-fifth thereof one year eater
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax fer the
payment for such irprovement; one-fifth thereof in two'ys after
eu approval; one-fifth thereof in three "..
p years after a spa oval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and'ene-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more Of said •in-
dtaliments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One o.
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interes
to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest
at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the appro
val of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date
of delinquency, and eight (8) per oent per annum from delinquency
until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
