AN ORDINANCE amending Section 666 of Chapter 16, Re-
vised ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as amended by an or-
dinance passed by the Board of Commissioners April 19, 1920,
relating to clerks and deputies in the office of the City Recorder.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners o f Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 666 of Chapter 16, Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners April 19, 1920, relating
to deputies in the office of the City Recorder, be, and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 666. The Board of Commissioners may appoint
in the office of the City Recorder of Salt Lake City, the
following deputies, at salaries not to exceed the amounts
named:
One chief deputy city recorder at a salary of 42100
per annum.
In the absence of, or during the disability of the
city rec order, the chief deputy city rec order shall exercise
all the functions and powers of the city recorder. He shall
give a bond to the city in the sum of 41000.
One chief clerk at :i1800 per annum.
Two deputy city recorders who shall act as deputy

clerks of the city court at $1800 per annum.
One deputy city recorder who shall act as deputy clerk:
of the city court at :1,31560 per annum.
One deputy city recorder who shall act as deputy clerk
of the city court, at 01500 per annum.
Five deputy city recorders who shall act as deputy
clerks of the city court, not to exceed 4'1500 per annum.
The Board of Commissioners may employ such clerks,
stenographers and other employes as may be necessary for the
proper conduct of said office at such salaries as may be
designated by said board.
SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commission--
'ers it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the
;inhabitants of said city that this ordinance become effeotive
It immediately.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect upon
publication.
