AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 49-3-46 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, 1955, relating to private lines that may be master
metered and stating the minimum charge per month for such service.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 49-3-46 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, 1955, relating to private lines that may be master metered and
setting a minimum charge per month for such service; be, and the same is,
hereby amended by increasing the said minimum charge, which amended
section shall read as follows: •
"Sec. 49-3-46. Private lines may be master metered. When
a private watermain supplying more than one house is connected
to the city watermains the superintendent of waterworks may
require a master meter to be installed near the point where the
connection is to be made to the city main. This installation
will be at the expense of the owners of the private line
according to the regular rates for meter installation. Res-
ponsible parties must agree to pay all bills for water served
through said meter at regular meter rates. Minimum charge of
$1.25 per month for each service connection taking off from
said private line will be made."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. The rate increase shall take effect on the 1st day of
January, 1957.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
26th day of December, 1956.
