AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 5-1-12 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the effective date of Chapter 13 of the Uniform Building Code applicable to existing buildings. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 5-1-12 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the effective date of Chapter 13 of the Uniform Building Code applicable to existing buildings, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 5-1-12. Existing buildings. Effective date. Section 1309 (c) of the Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition, adopted by Section 5-1-1, as amended, is amended to read as follows: "Every building failing to conform to the require- ments of this section on or before December 1, 1968, and every building falling within the scope of this section for which there has been no building permit obtained for necessary improvements and alterations to conform to the requirements of this section on or before March 1, 1968, and every building falling within the scope of this section whose interior stairways and number of exits do not comply with this section on or before July 1, 1968, shall be vacated until made to conform to the above requirements." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 20th day of December , 1967 /7 , ice, ;/ i /!
