Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 276 of Article 18 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake City, Utah, relating to regulations for bicycles, by requiring reflectors to be placed upon the front, rear and both sides of bicycles, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 276. Equipment. Any bicycle operated upon any street, alley, sidewalk or public way of this city shall be equipped with a brake which will enable the operator to control the movement of and to stop and hold such bicycle. "Every bicycle operated during the period of one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour before sunrise shall in addition to the foregoing be equipped with reflectors attached to the front, rear and both sides, such reflectors shall be visible from all sides, under normal atmospheric conditions for a distance of at least five hundred feet." SECTION 2. In the opinion of theBoard of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
