AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-8-4 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to vacation entitlement for
employees during the tenth year of consecutive employment.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-8-4 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to vacation entitlement for
employees during the tenth year of consecutive employment be, and
the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-8-4. Vacation during tenth year of consecutive
employment. Beginning in the calendar year in which an
employee's tenth (10th) anniversary date shall occur, every
person who has completed nine consecutive full calendar
. years of employment with the city shall be entitled to a
vacation award of three weeks, exclusive of Saturdays and
Sundays, except for members of the combat division of the
fire department, who shall be entitled to a vacation period
of seven and one-half on-duty shifts, exclusive of holidays.
The said three-week vacation award and the said seven and
one-half on-duty shifts for members of the combat division
of the fire department may be taken in the calendar year in
which said qualifying employee's tenth employment anniversary
date shall occur."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of
the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 30th day of January , 1973.
