ORDINANCES
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING subparagraphs (1) and (2) of Section 24-1-2
of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
subordinate departments within the Public Safety and Public Affairs
and Finance Departments of Salt Lake City.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That subparagraphs (1) and (2) of Section 24-1-2 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to subor-
dinate departments within the Public Safety and Public Affairs and Finance
Departments of Salt Lake City, be, and the same hereby are, amended to
read as follows:
"Sec. 24-1-2. Subordinate departments classified. * * *
"(1) DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
(a) Civil defense
(b) Fire department
(c) Health department
(d) Police department
(e) Public safety buildings
"(2) DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND FINANCE
(a) Animal control
(b) City cemetery
(c) City court
(d) City recorder
(e) City treasurer
(f) Civil service
(g) Law department
(h) License department
(i) Parking meter collection
(j) Planning and zoning
(k) Purchasing agent
(1) Weights and measures and petroleum inspection

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is neces-
sary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City
that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publi-
cation.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake Cit, Utah, this
13th day of February, 1974.
