Scheid___.._..____ ? a f Shearman------.-_ �r ; 1� Wells t �^ Mr.Chairman Result 1 AN ORDINANCE La ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Sixth East Street between Fifth South and Ninth South Streets, and on Sixth South Street between Fifth East and Sixth East Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system, storm sewer and private driveways, installing water services, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in /laving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system, storm sewer, private driveways, install- ing water services, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 4 and 5, Block 25; 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 18; 4 and 5, Block 11; 4 and 5, Block 4; 20 to 28, inclusive, Hollister's Sub- division, Block 4, all in Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the east aide of Sixth East Street between Fifth South and Ninth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing and guttering with oement, constructing drainage system and storm sewer to carry water across streets and intersections, constructing -1- ii private driveways, installing water services, and paving with Utah Rook asphalt, two twenty-four (24) foot roadways with twenty-four (24) foot parking between, on Sixth East Street between Fifth South and Ninth South Streets (said roadways to have a six (6) inch con- crete base, one and one-half (1*) inch binder, and one and one-half (1*) inch topping of Utah Rock asphalt), the portion of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be espeoially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here- by levied, and said paroels of land are hereby assessed at an equal! and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street, fronting upon and to a depth of twentjr- to be I five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and assesapd II upon said paroels of land is twenty-five thousand three hundred seventy-nine and 76/100 ( 25,379.76) dollars; twenty-four thousand j eight hundred nineteen and 76/100 ($)24,819.76) dollars, or nine and 43/100 ( 9.43) dollars per front or linear toot of abutting propert for twenty-four foot roadway with twenty-four foot park between, there being 2632 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; an for private driveways, five hundred sixty ( 560.00) lax dollars, or forty (440.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being 14 private driveways, the cost of the construction of which private driveways and the propert) benefited thereby is her einafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the perfor-! mane of said work and making said improvement, with J. W. Property Assessed for Private Driveways in Addition to Regular Assessment. The west side of the north 41.75 feet of the south 82.5 feet of Sot 4, the west side of the south 82.5 feet of Lot 3, Block 18; the west side of the south 41.25 feet of the north 123.75 feet,• the west side of the south 41.25 feet of the north 165 feet, the west side of the north 33 feet of the south 132 feet, the west side of the suti north 33 feet of the south 99 feet, and the west side of the south 66 feet of Lot 5, the west side of the north 82.5 feet, the west side of the south 82.5 feet of the north 165 feet, the west side of the north 41.25 feet of the south 165 feet, and the III west side of the south 123.75 feet of Lot 4, Block 11; the west side of the north 50 feet of the south 125 feet of Lot 4, Block 4; the west side of the north 5 feet of Lot 25, and all of the west side of Lot 2i, the west side of the south 122 feet of Lot 20, Hollister's Subdivision, Block 4, all in Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to oolleot said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per sent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after .3- I� II I I said ordinance beoomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance beoomes effective; one-tenth thereof in ( five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there- of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance beoomes effeotive; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinanoe becomes effective* One or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at ., any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same beoomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become dne and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per sent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment beoomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
