AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-4-6(e) of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City,, Utah, 1965, relating to uniform allowance.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-4-6(e) of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to uniform allowance, be, and
the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-4--6* * *
"Sec. 25-4-6(e). Uniform allowance. In addition to the
salaries herein provided for the members of the fire department,
police department and health department, each officer and
employee of said departments, who is required to wear a uniform
and members of the Plainclothes Division of the police depart-
ment shall receive the sum of $15.00 per month as a uniform
allowance, provided, however, that the personnel of the police
department required to wear a uniform and who are assigned to
duty in the K-9 Corps, the motorcycle patrol and members of
the Plainclothes Division of the police department whose duty
does not require the wearing of a uniform, and personnel of
the fire department required to wear a uniform and who are
assigned to duty as specialized investigators of the Fire Pre-
vention Bureau Inspectors, shall receive an additional uniform
allowance of $16.00 per month, a total of $31.00 per month,
in view of the extra hazards to uniform and clothing involved
in such assignment; provided further that personnel of the
police department and fire department holding the rank of
lieutenant or captain shall not receive the $16.00 per month
additional uniform allowance above provided for."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 31st day of October, 1968.
