AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on the East side of Edison Street, 8th South to a point
Two Hundred Feet South of said Eighth South Street , in aidewalk
District No. 20, (Sidewalk Extension No. 204), fox the construction
of concrete sidewalks.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board. of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described. in Sidewalk
District No. 20 (Sidewalk Extension No. 204) , for the construction
of concrete sidewalks, to-wit:
In Lot 7 of Block 2, Plat A, Salt Lake City Survey.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete sidewalks three (3) feet wide and four (4) inches thick,
with three and one-quarter (3;4) inch base and three-quarter ( )
inch topping, upon the portions of said street opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, aria it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said prole rty will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here-
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets, fronting upon and to a depth

of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and.
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Two Hundred Sixty-
two and 40/100 (,262.40) dollars or One and 47/100 ( 51.47)
'dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there be-`,
ing 178.5 feet of abutting property within the b oundar ie s o f the
lots, block and streets above mentioned in said district, which;
is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks,
:according to the contract entered into for the performance of
;;said work and making said improvement with A. J. Gillis, Con-
;:tractor, dated the 10th day of June, 1920, and the Treasurer is
hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the;
provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The West side of the North 148.5 feet of the east
11148.5 feet and the west side of the north 30 feet of the south
165 feet of the east 148.5 feet of Lot 7 of Block 2, Flat A,
"Salt Lake City Survey, ao the same are shovel. upon the official
,plats of said city, to a depth of fifty (50) feet back from said!
streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent ir1
,five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum
unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time
.each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year
!,after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the pay-
ment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof i
two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth there-

of in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one

!fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effec-
tive; and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance
:becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid,

at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming
the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the
event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being
tl
paid ion the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest
are due, shall beeome due an3 payable, and shall draw interest
at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the
property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid,
'' may be paid an the day any installment becomes due, by paying
it
the amount thereof and interest to said date.
• SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect one
day after its first publication.
