City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax wed. provide for tie assessment of the
.erne upon the property liereiiecfter described in Lighting District
Do. 5-t, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance
and patrolling of arc lamps, to-wit:
In Lots 3 and 6 of Bik. 70, rlat A, Salt Lake City
Purvey, abutting oh: both sides of kegent Street, let to
2nd South streets in Salt Lake City.
This tax is levied to defrap the expense of providing for
the operation, maintenance wet patrolling of arc lamps (said lamps
to be eleven (11) in number; of inverted type ornamental 6.6 ampere
luminous arc lamps), said lamps to be illuminated by electric
current and to be supplied with electric current for the illumination
of the same each night from fifteen minutes before dark until
midnight, two (2) lamps, however, to be lighted all night ( the cost
of operation of the all night lamps being One Thousand Seven Hundred
Twenty and 16/100 ( p1720.16) dollars, and the same to be paid for by
the city), the circuits for the operation of said system Of lamps to
be underground, and the portions of said streets opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement and it is hereby ad-
judged, determined and established th;_.t said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an eclu..1
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
and to the entire depth back therefrom and the tax hereby levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Four Thousand
Nine Hundred. Thirty and 12/100 ( 4930.12) dollars or Three and.
8506/10000 43.8506) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property, there being 1280.35 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement and the cost of which operation, maintenance and
patrolling and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set
out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and
streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total
abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said improvement for
a period of ten years, according to the contract entered into
for the performance of said work and making said improvement with
Utah Power & Light Company, dated the 25th day of October, 1921,
which is the date service began, said levy to date and be
effective from October 25, 1921, and the City Treasurer is here-
by authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
Commencing 112 ft. east of the northwest corner of Lot
6, Blk. 70, Plat A; thence south 1°20' west 660 ft., being a part
of Lots 3 and 6; commencing 2.23 ft. west of the northwest corner
of Lot 7, Blk. 70, Plat A; thence south 1°16' west 177 ft. being
a part of Lot 6, and commencing 16.58 ft. west of the southwest
corner of Lot 2, Blk. 70, Plat A;thence north 1°16' east 443.35
ft. being a part of Lots 3 and 6, all of Blk. 70, Plat A, :salt
Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of
