Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on the east side of Park Street between Seventh South
Street and Lowell Avenue, in Sidewalk District No. 22 (Sidewalk
Extension No. 193), for the construction of a concrete sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Luke
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk
District No. 22 (Sidewalk Extension No. 193), for the construc-
tion of a concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
In Lots 14 to 21, inclusive, Pearson's Subdivision, Block
10, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the east side
of Park Street between Seventh South Street and Lowell Avenue.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
concrete sidewalk four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick,
with three and one-quarter (34) inch base and three-quarter (Q)
inch topping, upon the portion of said street opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal

and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage y(
upon said portion of said street, fronting upon and to a depth
of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is three
hundred forty-two and 90/100 ($342.90) dollars, or one and 8/100
($G1.08) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property,
there being 317.5 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, block and street above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalk,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement, with Ryberg Brothers,
dated the 6th day of August, 1918, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The west aide of Lot 21, and the west side of Lots 14 to
20, inclusive, Pearson's Subdivision of Block 10, Plat "B", Salt
Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats
of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said
street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for
such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof
in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth
thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective;
and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes
effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at
any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the
event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being
paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest
are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest
at the rate of eight per Dent per annum until the sale of the
property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid,
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying
the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
