Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Chapter 4 of Title 9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to restaurant, tavern and private club regulations, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 4 RESTAURANT, TAVERN AND PRIVATE CLUB REGULATIONS Sections: 9-4-1. Seating area and dance floor separation. 9-4-2. Rest room requirements. 9-4-3. Bar and dance floor separation. 9-4-4. Itinerant entertainment prohibited. 9-4-5. Dance license fee for a restaurant, tavern or private club. 9-4-6. Allowing dancing in a restaurant, tavern or private club unlawful without a license. "Sec. 9-4-1. Seating area and dance floor separation. The dance area in a restaurant, tavern or private club to allow dancing by its patrons must be separated from the seating area by a minimum aisle or area way of three feet. "Sec. 9-4-2. Rest room requirements. Access to rest rooms must be by an aisle or area way of at least three feet in width and in no event shall a license allowing dance in a restaurant, tavern or private club be issued if it is necessary to cross direct- ly over the dance area to have access to said rest rooms. "Sec. 9-4-3. Bar and dance floor separation. If the dance area is adjacent to or in front of a bar where beer or liquor is served or consumed there must be a minimum aisle area of five feet between said bar and said dance area. "Sec. 9-4-4. Itinerant entertainment prohibited. Itinerant walk-in guitar players or entertainers are prohibited from performing in all restaurants, taverns or private clubs. "Sec. 9-4-5. Dance license fee for a restaurant, tavern or private club. The license fee required for a restaurant, tavern or private club to enable dancing on said premises shall be $10.00 per day or $100.00 per year. 94 -2- "Sec. 9-4-6. Allowing dancing in a restaurant, tavern or private club unlawful without a license. It shall be unlawful to allow dancing by patrons in a restaurant, tavern or private club unless said premises are licensed to allow said activity according to the provisions of this title." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance ,shall take effect upon its first publication.
