Result _ YI AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in the territory included between Twelfth South and Thirteenth South Streets, and Fifth East and Eleventh East Streets, in Sidewalk Distriot No. 44, for the construction of Dement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter desoribed in Sidewalk Distriot No. 44, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lots 67, and 74 to 92, inclusive, Country Club Subdivision; 1, 15 and 16, all in Block 44; 24 to 32, inclusive, Block 2; 28, Block 1, Forest Dale Plat "A" Subdivision; 5 to 22, inclusive, Block 16; 1, Block 5; 17, Block 8, Forest Dale Subdivision; 11, all in Block 43, and all in Ten Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, abutting on the east side of Sixth Beet Street between Twelfth South Street and Driggs Avenue; on both sides of Driggs Avenue between Green and Seventh East Streets; on the south side of Parkway Avenue between Eighth East and Ninth East Streets; and on the west side of Ninth East Street between Parkway Avenue and Thirteenth South Street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks (certain of said sidewalks to be four (4) feet wide, and 7e} -l- it other of said sidewalks to be five (5) feet wide, and all of said sidewalks to be four (4) inches thick with three and one-quarter (34) inch base and three-quarter (4) inch topping) , upon the por- tions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and here- inafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the ful amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordanoe with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-three hundred ninety-two and 51/100 ($2392.51) dollars; fourteen hundred three and 20/100 ($1403.20) dollars, or 675/1000 ($0.675) dollers per front or linear foot of abutting property for four foot sidewalks, there being 2078.81 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; and nine hundred eighty-nine and 31/100 ($989.31) dollars, or 795/1000 ($0.795) dollars per front or lines, foot of abutting property for five foot sidewalks, there being 1244.41 feet abutting said portion of said improvement, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men- tioned in said district, which is the total oost and cost per fro. foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into fo the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Parrott Brothers Company, dated the 3rd day of September, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Four Foot Walks. The north side of Lots 67, and 74 to 92, inclusive, Country Club Subdivision; the east side of the north 22.1 feet of the scut. 373.21 feet, the east side of the south 208.31 feet of Lot 15; the -2_ east side of Lots 1 and 16, all in Block 44, Ten Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey. Five Foot Walks. The west side of Lots 24 to 32, inclusive, Block 2; the west aide of Lot 28, Block 1, Forest Dale Plat "A" Subdivision; the wee side of the north 19.75 feet of the south 118.45 feet of the east 726 feet, and the west side of the south 70.70 feet of the east 7E: feet of Lot 11; the west side of Lots 5 to 22, inclusive, Blook 16 the south side of Lot 1, Block 5; the north side of Lot 17, Block 8, Forest Dale Subdivision, all in Block 43, Ten Lore Plat "A", Bi. Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of sal. City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet book from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. This tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for suoh improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more -3- installments, in the order in whioh they are payable, or the whole epeoial tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
