Be it ordained e Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Cosunicsioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax end provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 11-C, for the purpose of providing for the operation, mainte- nance and patrolling of arc lamps and the furnishing of electrical energy therefor, to-wit: In Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 75, and Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, of Llk. 76, Plat 'At, Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the south side of South Temple Street from Nest Temple `:'treet to State ,Street, in Salt Lake City. ;> This tax- is levied to defray the ex)ense of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps and furnish- ing with electrica1 energy for a period of ten years from _Novemb"er 29, 1947, to November 29, 1957, fourteen (14) ornamental standards, each equipped with three 6.6 ampere luminous arc lamps, or forty- two (42) arc lamps; thirty-seven (37) of said arc lamps to be sup- pj,ied with electric current for the illumination of the same each night from fifteen minutes before dark until midnight, and the re- maining five (5) arc lamps in said district, however, to be lighted all nighty. and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby -2- laseessed at an erual and uniform rate in accordance with the linea of the same ownership 1foot frontage upon and to the entire depthAback therefrom not exce d- ing 330 feet and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Seventeen Thousand, Four Hundred Sixty-two and 52/100,(pl7,462.52) Dollars or Fourteen and 082677/1000000( l4.082 77; dollars per front or Linear foot of abutting property, there being 11240 feet abutting said portion of said improvement, and the cost 1 of which operation, maintenance, patrolling and furnishing of elec trical energy and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter se out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total abutters' cos and cost per front foot of said improvement for a period of ten ye rs; laccording to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Utah Power & Light Company, dated the 14th day of November, 1947, said. levy to date and be ef- fective from November 14, 1947, which is the date service began, a d the city treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned.: Frontinl on the south side of South Temple Street: 11 of Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 75; all of Lots 5 and 6, the east 99.0 ft. of Lot 7, , and the east 110.0 ft. and the west 41.0 t. j of Lot 8, of Elk. 76; H.at TA', Salt Lake City eurvey; as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth of the same ownership back from said street not eacee''- ing 330 feet, and collect said tax. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Lighting district do. 11-C of Salt Lake City for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrol ling of arc lamps and furnishing with electrical energy, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said. completed lists and the report of the Boar& of Equalization and Review to th- Board. of Commissioners of Salt Lake City are hereby ratified, ap- . proved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal year jly =installments, with interest on any delinquent installment un- paid at the rate of ten per cent per annum, which interest shall b charged from and after the due date of each installment, to-wit: One-tenth thereof fifteen clays after the ordinance levying the tax for the payment of the improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in one year thereafter; one-tenth thereof in two years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in three,years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in four years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in five years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in ,six 2 s tY reafter; one-tenth x years thereafter,:o'n ten thereof in seven thereof in eight year- thereafter; one-tenth thereof in.iq`inq azsw;.thereafter; provided, however, that one or more of such'in all $ in the order payabl=, or the whole tax, may be paid withou intt within fifteen (15) days from the date this ordinance becomes effective.
