An ordinance levying a tax and for the assesent of property on
Third West Street between North Temple and Third south Streets, in
Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of providing for the grading,
guttering and curbing, and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Silt Like City, Utah:
SECTIOIT 1. That the City Council does hereby; levy the: tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving District ITo. 28, for the purpome of providing for
the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of a portion of said
district, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 83; 1 and 8, Block 80; 4 and 5,
Block 84; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 79, all in flat "A", abutting on both
sides of Third West Street between North Temple and First South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, and paving with asphalt(Haid apphalt pave-
ment to be ninety-two (92) feet vide between ourbss unu nine and 1/2
(9-1/2) inches thick), the portion of said street opposite the prop-
erty hereinbeforo and hereinafter described to be espeoielly af_Tectel
and benefited by said i,.pprovement, tuya it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined end established th:;t said property will be especially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and o:i d parcell
of land are hereby assessed at an edua.l and uniform rate in accordan e
with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fron -
ing upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, anal
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said pnraels of land i4
eighteen thousand six hundred _six a.nd 29/100 ( 18,606.29) dollars, or
seven and 478371/10,000,000 ( 7.0478371) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for grading, guttering and curbing, and
paving the street above mentioned in Paving District Fo. 28, there
being 2640 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the
lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is
the total cost and cost per front foot of said pavement, accord .
to the contract entered into for the per"or.mrnce of acid work and
making said improvement, with J. Moran, doted the 4th day of Octo-
ber, 1909, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to
assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the
purpose herein mentioned;
The east side of Lots 1, 5, 7 and 8, Block 83; the east side of
Lots 1 and 8, Block 80; the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 84; the
west side of Bots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 79, Blat "A", Salt Luke City
Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to,
a depth of twenty-five (25i feet back from said street, and to collect
said. tam.
SECTION 2. Said tax shell become and be delinquent in ten equal
installments, as follows, to-wit; One-tenth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming- the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-tenth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-tenth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-tenth thereof in four years after such approvel; one-tenth thereoL'
in five years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in six years
after such approval; one-tenth thereof in seven years after such ap-
proval; one-tenth thereof in eight years after such approval; one-
tenth thereof in nine years after such aproval; and one-tenth there- I

lo'f in ten years after such approval. One or more of said install-
oents or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the
approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
)any installment becomes due by paying; the amount thereof and interest
Ito date of payment. Bach of said installments shall bear interest
lat the rate of six per cent per annum from the date of the approval
of the ordinance confirming the mevy of said tax until the date of
delinquency, and eight per cent per annum from delinquency until paid{
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
