Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Eleventh East Street from Yale Avenue to a point 287 feet north
of Twenty-first South Street (formerly Twelfth South Street) , in
Paving District No. 31, for the purpose of providing for the grading,
ourbing and guttering, constructing waterways across street inter-
sections, and laying pipes for irrigation purposes back of curb,
oonstructing private driveways, installing water services, and
paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering,
constructing waterways across street intersections, laying pipes for
irrigation purposes back of curb, constructing private driveways,
installing water services, and paving thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 47 to 56, inclusive, Block 2; 51 to 55, inclusive, Blook
1, Lincoln Park Subdivision; 27 to 30, inclusive, Block 4; 26 to 33,
inclusive, Block 3; P4 to 31, inclusive, Block 2; 24 to 27, inclu-
sive, Block 1, Norwood Place Subdivision; 2, all in Block 16 A; 56,
Block 5; 16 to 23, inclusive, Block 3, Perkins' Grand View Addition;
1 to 10, inclusive, Block 7; 24 to 33, inclusive, Block 10; 24 to 28,

inclusive, Block 11, Perkins' First Addition to grand View; 3, 4,
10 and 11, all in Block 14, and all in Five Acre Plat "A' , Big
Field Survey, abutting on the east side of Eleventh East Street
between Roosevelt Avenue and as a point 287 feet north of Twenty-
first South Street (formerly Twelfth South Street).
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with cement, constructing waterways across street
intersections, and laying pipes for irrigation purposes bank of
curb (said waterways and pipes to consist of vitrified, concrete
and wrought iron pipe), constructing private driveways, installing
water services, and paving with sheet asphalt (said sheet asphalt
pavement to be forty-four (44) feet between curbs and eight (8)
inches thick, with five (5) inch concrete base, one and one-half
(1*) inch binder and one and one-half (1*) inch topping of sheet
asphalt), the portions of said street opposite the property herein-
before and hereinafter described to be especially affected and
benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined and established that said property will be especially bene-
fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion
of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is seventeen thousand six hundred twenty-
nine and 55/100 ($17,629.55) dollars; seventeen thousand three
hundred fifty-three and 5/100 ($17,353.05)dollars, or five and

27/100 ($5.27) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting prop-
erty for said forty-four foot roadway, there being 3292.80 feet
abutting. said portion of said improvement; one hundred forty
II (0140.00) dollars for private driveways, or fourteen (414.00)
dollars for each private driveway, there being ten private drive-
ways,ji and one hundred thirty-six and 50/100 ($136.50) dollars for

water services, or ten and 50/100 ($10.50) dollars for each water
service, there being thirteen water services, the cost of the con-
struction of which and the property benefited thereby is herein-
after set out, all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks sad
street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost
bend cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the con-

improvement, with P. J. Moran, Contractor, inoorporated, dated the
Pr, 3rd day of May, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten

equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
et the rate of six per oent per annum, payable at the time each

installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
( ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years

after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there-
of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes
effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance
becomes effeotive. One or more of said installments, in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole apeciel tax, may be paid at
any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy
of the tax beoomes effective, without interest. In the event of
any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the datel
'he same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and
payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per oent per
annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or mor
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole
special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes
due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
