AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-11-15(c) OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO JOB BIDS BY
SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING THAT JOB BIDS
WILL BE POSTED FOR VACANCIES THAT OCCUR IN PROFESSIONAL LEVEL
POSITIONS WITH THE CITY BUT THAT DEPARTMENT HEADS ARE NOT
OBLIGATED TO SELECT EMPLOYEES APPLYING FOR SUCH POSITIONS.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Subsection (c) of Section 25-11-15 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
25-11-15. Promotions by job bid.

(c) Executive and Professional Level Bids. Job bids will
be posted for five (5) working days for vacancies that exist in
all executive and professional level positions and all eligible
Career Service employees may bid on said vacant positions during
that time period. However, the department head is not obligated
to select anyone who is certified on the bidding list of
eligibles for any executive or professional level vacancies.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 16th day of September , 1980.
