98 of 1904 - Ordinance 98 of 1904 – Sewer Extension No. 122. AN O A D I N A ! C E . An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of First Street between E and F Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer; and repealing an ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on First Street between E and F Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer, passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, October 26, 1903, and approved by the Mayor October 29, 1903; and also repealing an ordinance confirming the assessment upon the property oil First Street between E and F Streets, in Sewer Dis- trict No. 1, for the construction of a sewer, passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, November 16, 1903, and approved by the Mayor November 18, 1903. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lots Nos. 3 and 4, Block 9, and Lots Nos. 1 and 2, Block 20, Plat *D", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of First Street between E and F Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, said property having a frontage of 560 feet along said street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a sewer upon said portion of said street opposite the property herein- after described to be especially affected and benefited by said im- provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is three hundred and ninety-two ($392.00) dollars, or 70/100 ($0.70) dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and es- timated cost per linear foot of sr id sewer, and tnie Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro- visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, the east 140 feet of Lot 3, and the west 140 feet of Lot 4, Block 9; the west. 140 feet of Lot 1, and the east 140 feet of Lot 2, Block 20, Plat "D", Salt Lake City Survey as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent as follows: One-third thereof shall become delinquent in one month after the approval of this levy; one-third in two months after said appro- val, and one-third in three months after said approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum from date of levy, and all said installments shall bear interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum from date of delinquency. SECTION 3. That an ordinance levying*. a tax and for the assess- ment of property on First Street between E and P Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer, passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, October 26, 1903, and referred to the Mayor for his approval, and approved by the Mayor on the 29th days of October, 1903, be, and the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That an ordinance confirming the assessment upon the property on First Street between E and F Streets, in Sewer Dis- trict No. 1, passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, November 26, 1903, and referred to the Mayor for his approval, and ap;;roved by the Mayor on the 18th day of November, 1903, be, and the , same is hereby repealed.
