AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
property on both sides of First, Second and Third Avenues, for their
entire length, and on both sides of all cross streets from A Street
Ito U Street, both streets inclusive, between South Temple Street and
Third Avenue, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 24, 25 and 26, for the con-
struction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 24: '5candr6, Pax the construe

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement
' sidewalks four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon the

portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and here-
inafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said im-'`
provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount
of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed
at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot front'..
age upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth
of twenty.-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied
and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eighteen thousand
three hundred seventeen and 95/100 ($18,317.95) dollars, or 67/100
($0.67) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
sidewalks on both sides of the streets above mentioned in Sidewalk
Distriots Nos. 24, 25 and 26, there being 27,340.23 feet of abutting
property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above
mentioned in said districts, which is the total cost and cost per
front foot of said sidewalks according to the contract entered into
for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with
J. 2. O'Neil, dated the 9th day of September, 1907, and the Treasurer;
is hereby authorised and directed to assess in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned:

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become a:.id be delinquent in five •
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year
after the approval of the ordinance oonfirming he levy of the tax
for the payment for such improvement; one4fifth thereof in two years
after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such ap-
proval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such a) roval; and one-I
fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of'did

installments, or the whole tax, may be paid on or before ten days
after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax.
