99 of 1905 - Ordinance 99 of 1905 – Sidewalk Extension No. 95. AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
abutting on both sides of all wide streets from East Temple Street
to Ninth East Street, both streets inclusive, dnd from Fourth South '
Street to Ninth South Street, both streets inclusive, on State
Street from Ninth South Street to Tenth South Street, and on streets
around Block 5, Plat "A.", and on all narrow streets in said die-
trict, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 9, 16, 20, 22, 30 and 40, for the
construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter

20, 22, 30 and 40, said property having a frontage of 107,981.59
feet along said wide streets, and 9,867.50 feet alone said narrow
streets.
This tax Ls levied to defray the expense of constructing cement
sidewalks six feet wide and four inches thick upon said portions of

said wide streets, and four feet wide and four inches thick upon
said portions of said narrow streets opposite the property herein-
after described to be especially affected and benefited by said im-
provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
teee ,

amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal end uniform rate in accordance with the linear
foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and
to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax
hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is one
hundred and five thousand one hundred seventy and 50-100
(; 105,170.50) dollars, on 91-100 00.91) dollars per frontor linear
foot of property abutting the wide streets in said district, and
170-100 (: 0.70) dollars per front or linear foot of property abutting
the narrow streets in said district, which is the estimated total
cost and the estimated cost per front or linear foot of said side-
walk, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose
herein mentioned,

Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City
to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to
collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six
equal installments as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come farad be,delingifent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; .one loth thereof in one year after such apivov .l; one-sixth
thereof in tw0 years after such approval; one-sixt4thereof in three
years after aB;idch approval; one-sixth thereof in-faun years after
such aeproval" and one-sixth thereof in five years after suoh appro-
val. Each"ands every, installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw i_reresst:at the! rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent from and after
its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This or diilance shall. take effect upon approval.
