HomeMy WebLinkAbout99 of 1906 - Ordinance 99 of 1906 – Sidewalk Extension No. 113. AN ORDINANCE . An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on the north side of Military Avenue between West and Alta Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 42, for the construction of a cement side- walk. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah.: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lots 25 to 48, inclusive, Block 6, Popperton Place Subdivision of part of Section 33, Township 1 north, Range 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, abutting on the north side of Military Avenue between West and Alta Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 42, said property having a frontage of 600 feet along said street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cement sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve- ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is six hundred (, 600.00) dollars, or one (. 1.00) dollar per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and direct- ed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance forte purpose herein mentioned, All of Lots 25 to 48, inclusive Block 6, Popperton Place Subdivision of part of Section 33, Town- ship 1 north, range 1 east, Selt Lake Base and Meridians, Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown t p,_! -2- upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6) equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- oome and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi- n'ance; one sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-zixth thereof in three years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro- v9.14,?,Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw nterest at the rate of six per cent per annuu from date of 6 livy,,.until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shalt bear interest at the rate of eight per rent per annum from and after its date of delinquency.
