AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 18-8-7, subsections (1) and (37)
of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
Dairy and Milk Inspection - General Provisions.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 18-8-7, subsections (1) and (37) of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to dairy
and milk inspection - general provisions, be, and the dame hereby are,
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 18-8-7. * * *
(1) Milk. "Milk" is hereby defined to be the lacteal
secretion, practically free from colostrum, obtained by
the milking of one or more healthy cows, which contains not
less than 84 percent milk solids - not fat - and not less than
34 percent milk fat (milk fat or butterfat is the fat of milk).
(37) Health Authority. The "health authority" shall
mean the director of health of the Salt Lake City-County Health
Department or his authorized representative. The term "health
authority," wherever it appears in this title, shall mean the
appropriate agency having jurisdiction and control over the
matters embraced within this Title."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabi-
tants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first pub-
lication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
28th day of October , 1971. j
