WHEREAS, Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County have purchased from the State of Utah the property in Salt Lake City formerly used for the Utah State Penitentiary, with the proviso that such property shall be used perpetually for public purposes; and WBERAE, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City and the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake County have informally agreed that a Comm- ittee should be appointed to consider and recommend use or uses to be made of said property to comply with the provisions of the grant to the City and County, together with plans and procedures designed to affect- 1 uate such use or uses; and WBBREAS, the governing bodies of the City and County have agreed upon the following named persons, as a committee, to carry out the pur- poses aforesaid: L. Peirce Brady Otto Buehner County Commissioner Edwin Q. Cannon Harold P. Fabian Ray D. Free Richard 8. Roberta City Commissioner L. C. Romney NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. The aforesaid individuals are hereby appointed a Committee for the foregoing purpose with authority to take such action from time to time as in their judgment may be necessary er proper to carry out the purpose of that appointment. S. Said Committee shall determine its own organisation and proced- ure from time to time, in accordance with which its action shall be gov- erned and it shall select its officers and other personnel. Vacancies on the Committee shall be filled by mutual agreement of the governing boards of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County. 3. The Committee is empowesdto receive, hold and expend for its authorized purposes, and purposes it may deem incidental thereto or in furtherance thereof, any money which nay be appropriated for its use, or which it may receive by donation or otherwise. 4. No amber of the Committee shall receive pay for his services as such; provided that service on or for the Committee by a member of this Commission or by any officers or employes of Salt Lake City or Sat Lake County shall be considered service 1n the line of his official duty. 5. A11 officers and other personnel of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County are directed to rive to the Committee such assistance within their usual line of duty as the Committee reasonably nay request of them from time to time. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect as of the date Salt Lake City adopts an identical resolution on behalf of Salt Lake City.
