WHEREAS, it is necessary to enlarge the 34-R and 16-L runway at the
Salt Lake City Municipal Airport, and to provide for a necessary clear zone
area at the north end of said runway as required by the Federal Aviation
Agency; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition,
construction and completion of the above named public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
1. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants that the city enlarge the facilities of the Salt Lake City
Municipal Airport to provide for an extension of the present 34-R and 16-L
runway and to provide for the necessary clear zone area at the north end
of said runway as required by the Federal Aviation Agency, all in accord-
ance with the plans and specifications heretofore prepared for and approved
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City.
2. That the enlargement of the facilities of the Salt Lake City
Municipal Airport to provide for an extension of the present 34-R and 16-L
runway and to provide for the necessary clear zone area at the north end
of said runway as required by the Federal Aviation Agency is hereby
authorized.
3. That the land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the enlarge-
ment and construction of said airport facilities, and the acquisition of

said land by Salt Lake City for such purposes is hereby declared to be a
public necessity and for the welfare and protection of the inhabitants of
said city.
4. That eminent domain proceedings be and the same hereby are
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Depart-
ment thereof to acquire all of the land hereinafter described for the
necessary enlargement and construction of additional facilities at the
Salt Lake City Municipal Airport as hereinabove set forth.
5. That the parcel of land hereinabove referred to and hereby
authorized to be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance with
the statutes and constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent
domain is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the present North boundary line of
Airport No. 1, said point also being the southwest corner of the
southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 21, T. 1 N.,
R. 1 W., S. L. B. & M.; running thence N. 0°01222" W. 1,531.4
feet; thence N. 89°59'22" E.1,121.0 feet; thence S. 0°01'22" E.
1,531.4 feet to the south section line of said Section 21; thence
S. 89°59222" W. 1,121.0 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 39.41 acres.
